A Queen and being seen

I thought I had seen everything the internet had to offer. Cat videos.Debates about pineapple on pizza.People arguing in the comments about things no one asked about. But the other day I stumbled across something that made me stop scrolling.

There is a Facebook group dedicated entirely to crowning women as queens. I’m not joking. The way it works is simple. A woman shares her story — sometimes about hardship, sometimes about surviving something difficult, sometimes just about life and the things she’s been through. Then the group rallies around her. Strangers. Total strangers. And together they raise money to buy her a real, beautiful crown. Not a metaphorical one. An actual crown. The kind that sparkles and looks like it belongs in a royal jewelry box.

And they send it to her as a reminder of something powerful:

That she made it through.

That she deserves to feel seen.

That sometimes the world needs to remind a woman she’s stronger than she thinks.

Now listen… the internet can be a wild place. Most of the time when you hear about things happening online, it’s people arguing, being rude, or tearing each other down over things that don’t even matter. So imagine my surprise when I discovered a whole corner of the internet dedicated to doing the exact opposite. Lifting someone up. Celebrating resilience. Reminding women they’re not invisible.

It made me laugh a little at first. Because I pictured a delivery driver showing up at someone’s house like: “Ma’am… I have a package here… it appears to be… a crown.” But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something. Sometimes people don’t need a lecture. Sometimes they don’t need advice. Sometimes they just need a reminder that they’ve survived more than they give themselves credit for. And sometimes that reminder shows up in the form of a sparkly crown from a bunch of strangers on the internet.

The world can be a rude place sometimes. But every once in a while, people surprise you.

And on those days, it turns out… Dude… Don’t Be Rude! Even queens are watching. 👑
